Oh cluna.i am sorry.sweet baggs.how is Baer doing?. *hugs*

@  Rattieroos : (14 February 2018 - 11:42 PM)

Recently lost Dove and Peaches as well. Dove had an ovarian tumor that even the vet was shocked at the size. I let him do a necropsy and he let me stay. Then Peaches had 3 lumps removed but somewhere within the 1st or 2nd day recovery from the surgery, she must have had a stroke or a blood clot :bigeyecry:

@  Cluna : (09 February 2018 - 12:09 PM)

Thanks Lolly. It would probably be worse for me, but better for her as she loved us so much. She always wanted out of the cage and to be with us. When I found her, she even looked like she was trying to get out the cage. I can only hope that her best friend Bear was there for her at least. Man, we miss her so much. :ratsad:

Oh cluna.i am so so sorry to hear about baggs. :ratsad: she went the best way.its not easy when they pass in your hands but maybe I've just had to many goodbyes like that.i hope your heartache eases soon.she will always be in your heart. *hugs* .we are all hear from you.

Hi guys. I haven't been around in a while, and I don't know if you remember me or my ratties, Baggs and Bear. Sadly Baggs (nearly 3) passed on Friday. She was incredibly thin and her breathing was so heavy. Unfortunately, I found her in her cage in the morning and didn't have her die in my hands like I'd wished. She was my heart rat and I am still absolutely devastated. :bigeyecry:

@  Caryn : (19 January 2018 - 06:37 PM)

Thanks. Yeah, she was nearing 2,5yrs and had been on heart meds for CHF for close to 8mths. I got way more time with her than I expected to be honest, but it's never enough time :ratsad:

Hi everyone.

so i have one of rat sitting furbabies staying with me at the one & poor Claude had a bit of a rough time after his brother die a month back.

he just went down hill, not a good chest but mainly dehydration, possibly liver failure & an eye infection. but he is all better now & back to his old self.

so according to his owner dr O suggested putting him on milk thistle liver tonic to flush out all the toxins.it is the one who can purchase at clicks.

is this good for ratties? especially older ratties? has anyone got or had their ratties on it?

any feed back will be much appreciated.

big hugs all.. *hugs*

Dr O had one of my previous ratties Pecan on it.  She had liver failure and it did offer her some assistance at the time.  I haven't had reason to use it again since then, as it is primarily a product that assists with liver function.  But yes, this could be beneficial to any older animal.

It is perfectly safe to use in rats in the correct quantity.  It is also used in other pets.

We used milk thistle for one of our rats a long time ago, also prescribed by the vet. It should hopefully help detox. Sending goodvibes.
